West Brom vs Sunderland

Lee Cattermole gave Sunderland an early with a breathtaking strike from about 20 yards out after just five minutes.

The Baggies were brought into the game when Saido Berahino tucked away a penalty with just three minutes to go to half-time after Valentin Roberge was adjudged to have fouled Victor Anichebe inside the area.

Berahino was again on hand; this time to give West Brom the lead in the 74th minute as he was man on the spot at the far post to score a tap-in.

QPR vs Hull City

A James Chester goal was enough to see Hull open their accounts for the season with all three points away at Loftus Road.

Stoke vs Aston Villa

A 50th minute strike from Villa’s Austrian international forward Andreas Weimann was enough to give a spirited Aston Villa all three points away at The Britannia.

Leicester City vs Everton

Leicester City made their much awaited Premier League return today against Everton. The Foxes were back in the top division after a wait that stretches more than a decade.

However, Aiden McGeady spoiled the mood at King Power Stadium as early as the 20th minute with a stunning shot into the top corner of the goal.

Summer signing Leonardo Ulloa however, brought the Foxes back on level terms after just two minutes.

Steven Naismith gave the visitors the lead again just before the break.

The Foxes were headed for a disappointing loss on opening day. However, Kiwi striker Chris Wood made his presence felt late on, giving the script a late twist in favour of Leicester as he struck in the 86th minute to level the game.
