Kim Källström is a 31-year-old Swedish footballer who plays as a midfielder for Spartak Moscow and the Sweden national football team. Everyone knows these things, here are 8 facts that you didn’t know about the soon to be Arsenal player:

1. Kim Källström Trophy

Together with Gothia Cup, Kim Källström arranges a tournament for young people with intellectual disabilities. The Kim Källström Trophy is a co-operation between Gothia Cup, Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia, Special Olympics Sweden and main sponsor, Swedish national player Kim Källström.

2. 3 assists in the historic game against Germany

In the group qualification match against Germany, Kim was brought in at the start of the second half and assisted 3 of the 4 goals in an incredible comeback from 4–0 disadvantage in the 55th minute to 4–4 at the end of the game.

3. Went viral after comforting an eight-year old

The Swede was seen comforting an eight-year-old boy ahead of the match against Germany in the World Cup qualifiers. Max was a team Mascot who suffers from Williams Syndrome and was really anxious as well as distressed. Källström crouched down and comforted the eight-year old. The picture of him comforting the eight year old went viral soon after.

4. Won the Peace Cup for Lyon

French side Olympique Lyonnais won a small club tournament the Peace Cup defeating Bolton Wanderers. Källström decided the match with the only goal in the final minute.

5. Got a match suspended

Källström was red carded for spitting towards the fourth official in a second round French League Cup Match in 2007, resulting in the shut-down of the match.

6. His goal helped Sweden qualify for UEFA Euro 2012

Källström had scored the 1-0 goal in the 3-2 win over the Netherlands to take Sweden to the UEFA Euro 2012.

7. Top signing in Championship Manager 2001/02

Källström has been well known to be a top signing on the 2001/02 football simulation game Championship Manager 01/02.

8. International Career:

Kim Källström has 106 caps for Sweden, scoring 16 goals in the process. He has featured in three European Championships( Euro 06, o8, 12) and the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
