Spanish midfielder Jofre Mateu González has decided to switch teams in the Indian Super League by leaving champions Atletico de Kolkata to play for FC Goa in the ISL - Season 2. 35-year-old Jofre born in the Catalonian city of Alpicat.

In his youth days, he played at the world famous La Masia of FC Barcelona and went through the system but couldn't make it with the club's senior teams. His first break was with RCD Mallorca 'B' team before going on to play for UD Levante, RCD Espanyol Barcelona, Real Murcia, Rayo Vallecano, Real Valladolid and FC Girona.

Last year Jofre for the first time in his career left Spanish shores to play for Atletico de Kolkata in the inaugural edition of the Indian Super League and ended up with a winner’s medal with ATK as one of the key players under coach Antonio López Habas.

For FC Goa, midfielder Jofre is a strong buy amongst their mainly Brazilian foreign contingent signed so far.
