FIFA FUTURO-III course to be held in New Delhi in September 2013

World football governing body FIFA have entrusted the AIFF with the responsibility to organise the FIFA FUTURO-III Referee Instructors Course for South Asia and Central Region, which will be held in New Delhi in September 2013.

India had earlier organised a FIFA FUTURO-III special course in the capital in March 2012. The course had been specifically allotted to India.

The FIFA FUTURO-III Referee Instructors’ course is aimed at developing the instructional skills of instructors actively involved in teaching in their Member Associations. Such courses use a regional format and instructors from neighbouring countries are trained at a centralised venue.

FUTURO-III shall be represented by 13 Asian countries with each country allotted three seats for technical instructors including one lady instructor. Two seats for each country have also been allotted for referees’ fitness instructor including one lady instructor. Over 60 participants are expected for the event.

The FUTURO-III Course Instructors will be from Japan, Uzbekistan, Singapore and Malaysia.

“This is a rare opportunity for any football federation to organise such a high profile course. I am grateful to FIFA for allotting it to be held in India. We have to live up to the high standards set by the World Governing Body and are prepared for it,” said AIFF Head of Referees Goutam Kar.

Muhiseen Ariff, Referees Development Officer, shall be on venue inspection visit in New Delhi from June 16-19, 2013.
