English football superstar David Beckham has posted his best wishes for the Brazilian Neymar who was carried off from the quarter-final win against Colombia subsequently ending his World Cup campaign.

Neymar was kneed in the back by Colombia’s Juan Zuniga causing a fracture in his vertebra. Neymar had been carrying Brazilian hopes for the tournament scoring 4 goals in 5 matches and the Selecao superstar was a feared man in any opposition.

David Beckham who had his share of injuries sympathized with the Brazil forward and shared images of him and Neymar on his official Facebook account.

“Very disappointed to no longer see Neymar Jr playing at World Cup,”

“Considering the pressure he has been under, he has been incredible. Get better soon and I know you will come back even stronger, força neymar” Beckham commented.

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli also tweeted about Neymar’s injury as he wished a speedy recovery for the Brazilan No.10.

Brazilian team doctor Jose Luis Runco meanwhile has dismissed any suggestion of a Neymar recovery and play the World Cup final – should Brazil qualify.

Reports in the Brazilian media said that Neymar would take painkilling injections and be available on the 13th.

"There is not the slightest possibility of Neymar playing on the 13th, if we reach the final.

"At no time was there a treatment option. We will not in any way create an illusion for our Brazilian population of something that does not exist." the doctor said.
