Football festival in Pandua village in West Bengal

Ron

There is a small village in Pandua, West Bengal. Their football club is called “Milan Sangha”. It was established in the year 1942. The people here are completely football-crazy. One of the Indian national players Mr. Syed Rahim Nabi comes from that village. He was trained under Mr. Bidyut Pal, a dedicated football coach of the village for last three generations. The farmers of Patra village have donated a piece of land for the joint football club.

Against that background, a football carnival/celebration was arranged on Sunday, December 1, 2013. It was a grand success. The village came alive with the sound of football. Four World teams were chosen: Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Germany, and SANTA donated their respective country-specific jerseys.

Aside: Hope this was a good predictor/outcome of the Final results of World Cup 2014.

Mr. Syed Rahim Nabi & Honourable MP, Dr. Ratna De Nag were present and participated in this Football Festival.

Mr. Syed Rahim Nabi was chosen as the First “Brand Ambassador” for this Initiative/project .
