Football Fives League, high on consolidating the amateur football landscape had a good 4th week. The week saw some great high-intensity games and can be termed as the most exciting week till now. The momentum is building up and Bangalore is catching up to the FFL wave.

The week started with a game of XLR8 FC vs Superpark FC at XLR8, Hennur. XLR8 FC capitalized on their home advantage and secured the three points with an astounding 11-1 victory.

Game of the week – Bullring vs Al-Fateh

Meanwhile, the best game of the league so far took place between Bullring Matadors and Al-Fateh FC. Both the teams fed off the crowd’s energy and the game by default went up a notch. Al-Fateh FC looked a completely different team from the last week but Bullring Matadors matched them every step of the way. After an intense 40 minutes of play, the final scoreline read 3-3.

“We are glad that we had sessions to prepare before the match as it was no walk in the park. We had a great team in front of us and an amazing audience. We are proud of our performance,” said Freddy, Coach of the Bullring Matadors after the game.

“I would like to thank the fans who come out in numbers to support us and the atmosphere was just unreal,” added Nikhil Reddy, Owner of the Bullring Matadors.

"After last week's performance our boys put in that extra effort and it clearly showed today. A game like this is what the players and owners are in for. The way both teams played, ultimately the game is the winner tonight," stated Ajaz Ahmed of Al-Fateh FC.

Moving on, Barefoot FC put up a fine performance against West Block FC and recorded a comfortable 5-0 win. “Although it was a home game, with West Block FC supporters who came in large numbers, it did not feel like that at all. Our boys had a win in the previous game and their morale was high and this helped us win this time again,” said Calvin Marshall of Barefoot FC.

“We are glad that we have been able to move up the points table,” he went on to add.

The game between Football Aura and FairPlay FC showed why we call football a beautiful game. Aura managed to overcome their rivals by two goals to nil and then felicitated each member of FairPlay FC with mementos. The same gesture was seen when XLR8 felicitated Superpark FC during their game.

These moments took FFL to a whole new level this week with teams showing that it’s not just about competing but co-existing and respecting each other as individuals.

Hotfut South United have been leading the points table for three weeks in a row but slipped down to third after this week. Friends United, meanwhile, sit on top spot with 9 points. Bullring Matadors remain in the second spot with 7 points.
