Rio de Janeiro, Jan 5 (IANS) Former AC Milan star Clarence Seedorf has said he is open to the possibility of a future coaching job in Brazil. The former Dutch international maintains an affinity with the South American nation after ending his playing career with the Rio de Janeiro outfit Botafogo last January, reported Xinhua.

"I don't close the door to anything," the 38-year-old told TV Globo during a short visit to Rio for a charity match on Sunday.

"It's always good to come back to Brazil to see some old friends again."

Seedorf's fledgling coaching career suffered a setback in June when he was sacked as manager of AC Milan after just five months into the job. The former AC Milan, Inter Milan and Real Madrid midfielder said he is yet to decide his next career move.

"You never know what could happen in the future. I still have time to think before I go back to work. Football is a demanding business. I'm observing, learning, travelling. We'll see."

According to Seedorf, the Selecao's 1-7 World Cup semi-final defeat to Germany in July was a wake-up call for Brazil's football hierarchy.

"It's not just the results but the lack of top talent. There is only Neymar. Brazil used to have a lot more world class players in Europe. The structure of Brazilian football can't be the same as it was 20 years ago. There needs to be innovation," he said.
