Remember Tim Wiese, the former Germany goalkeeper who built up his body, shocked the sports world and got an offer from the WWE?

Well, his hard work has finally paid off and he will make his first WWE appearance this weekend at a live event in Frankfurt.

Wiese has played for clubs like Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim, apart from appearing six times for the Germany national team between 2008 and 2012. He was also the nation's third choice goalkeeper for the 2010 World Cup.

He has been a free agent since January after his contract was terminated in January this year when he was told his body was not suited for professional football.

The report also states that the 32-year-old will not wrestle. His role in the show is not yet known.

Wiese got the WWE offer in September

The ex-footballer had built up his body in the past one year and got the offer from the WWE.

“I got an official request from the WWE. It’s for a commitment from me to become a pro wrestler. I’ll listen to everything on it’s own merits,” he had said at the time.

When asked if he would take it up, he had said: “Why should I say no? Wrestling is very popular especially in the United States.

“I will discuss the offer in the next few weeks with my agent. I am not scared.”
