Gary Lineker: Raheem Sterling Can Be Anything He Wants To Be

Raheem Sterling vs. Manchester City

Raheem Sterling has come good for Liverpool at just the right moment; netting 6 goals in his last 11 games

Gary Lineker has heaped praise on Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling following the 19-year-old’s scintillating performance against Norwich on Sunday.

Sterling has come of age in the second-half of the season and his performance on Sunday was not the first game he has lit up this year. He netted twice and assisted Suarez for another, as Liverpool ran out 3-2 winners at Carrow Road.

Sterling struck a magnificent 25-yarder to open the the scoring and then assisted Suarez with a sumptuous pass to give the Reds a 2-0 lead. Norwich pegged a goal back, but Sterling grabbed a third after a counter-attack from the Reds.

Gary Lineker tweeted yesterday that he believes Sterling can be anything he wants to be, if he puts his mind to it.

Sterling has emerged as front-runner for the Young Player of the Year award, after he was announced as one of the five nominees last week. The former QPR man has been a breath of fresh air under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers this season and has played a pivotal part in guiding the Reds to the top of the Barclays Premier League table.
