Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and singer Shakira have welcomed their second child into the family on Thursday. The baby boy was born without any complications in a caesarean operation at the Quiron Tecknon hospital in Barcelona.
The statement was released by the duo, just before midnight. The new-born comes two years after the birth of their first child, Milan. However, the name of the boy is yet to be determined.
Around 24 hours before the birth of the child, Pique played the full 90 minutes in Barcelona's Copa del Rey victory over Atletico Madrid.
Similar to their first child, the Pique-Shakira family will continue the tradition of making their child an associate member of Barcelona. The birth of the baby and sex was announced by the couple in August 2014.
They were also a part of UNICEF’s World Baby-Shower Day.
