Sporting Clube coach Oscar Bruzon will be one of the keynote speakers in day two of GIFT (Goa International Football Table) 2014 on Saturday and ahead of that the Spanish coach talked about importance of the event.

“This is a great initiative which I assisted last year, and will definitely help in the development of Indian and in particular Goan Football. The exchange of ideas with professionals of top football markets should be used for football practices here both on and off the pitch,” Bruzon told Sportskeeda.

The topic for Bruzon is ‘Importance of honing talent to produce world class players’ and giving an insight on that issue, he stated, “This aspect is essential and from my experience putting those players in important competitions is the best way to assess their progression.”

The Spaniard, who has overseen the progress of several youngsters at Sporting Clube, clarified how each age-group side requires specific attention.

“At U-10, U-12 and U-14 levels the main focus should be exclusively on the players’ development. From the U-16 level, they should be prepared for the optimum performance and team importance so by the time they reach the U-18 and U-20 levels, the players would already understand the demands of professional football and thus know the importance of getting results as well,” he concluded.
