Hero Motocorp signed as the title sponsor for I-League and Federation cup

In a major development for Indian football, Hero Motocorp has been signed as the title sponsor for I-League and Federation Cup for the next two years.

This news came as major boost for Indian football to move forward. Federation cup, India's second biggest football competition has been struggling to get sponsors for the last few years.While I-League, India's top-tier football competition had Airtel as title sponsor for last year. This may be because the sponsors might have realised how much football is present in India after the inaugural Indian Super League(ISL) season which became a huge success in every aspect on and off the pitch.

Meanwhile, the Hero group became the sponsor of almost all top level sports competition in India.They are already sponsoring Hockey India League, Indian Badminton League, Golf league etc. The financial details behind the deal have not been disclosed yet, but it is learned that the deal is close to worth Rs 20 crore.

The 36th edition of Federation Cup to be started on 28th this month at Goa while I-League to be kicks off in January 16th in Bengaluru.Both I-League and Federation Cup will be telecasted live on Ten Networks.
