Manchester United beat AS Roma 3-2 in the International Champions Cup in Denver – a pre-season tournament. Wayne Rooney scored twice and also assisted Juan Mata for the third goal.
The Red Devils scored all their goals in the first half to take a 3-0 lead. Roma were better in the second half with Miralem Pjanic scoring a sensational goal from his own half leaving Ben Amos scrambling back in vain. Francesco Totti also scored a goal by converting a penalty kick in the dying minutes of the game.
