Churchill Brothers SC’s request for a later kick-off of their match against Mohun Bagan AC on Tuesday, May 7 has been accepted by the AIFF, I-League and their broadcast partner Ten Sports. Instead of a 3.30 pm kick-off, the match would now start at 6.30 pm under floodlights at the Tilak Maidan.
Churchill Brothers CEO Ms Valanka Alemao said in the clubs press release, “We would like to thank the AIFF, especially Kushal Das, Sunanda Dhar, Roma Khanna and the entire I-League team, as well as the broadcasters for their corporation and understanding in shifting the match timings from 15:30pm to 18:30pm.”
“This move will surely help the players from both sides in displaying a better game and also ensure a good turnout by our fans and spectators in Goa,” Valanka Alemao added.
Churchill Brothers are on 51 points from 24 matches and with a win they would seal their 2nd overall I-League title. Therefore the match against Mohun Bagan gains in significance, then title celebrations could be on the cards.
