I-League: Mohammedan Sporting host Shillong Lajong in Kolkata tomorrow

Shillong Lajong FC will face Mohammedan Sporting Club on Wednesday afternoon in a crucial I-League match which awaits the teams at the Saltlake Stadium in Kolkata at 3pm.

Thangboi Singto and his men will be looking to do a double over Mohammedan Sporting, as the two teams previously met in November last year with Lajong FC winning by a 2-1 scoreline.

The Reds are in seventh position with 29 points and are heading into this match following a 1-2 home defeat to Mumbai FC on the 30th of March. But the team will put this behind them and go all out for tomorrow’s match and settle for nothing less than a win as three points will spring them up into 5th position.

Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting who have been struggling at the bottom throughout this season are placed in 12th position with 21 points just above the relegation spot.

However, the Black Panthers will look to make full use of the home advantage more so the squad is now boosted with a lot of confidence after they registered a 2-1 win over Rangdajied United FC on Sunday.

Head Coach of Shillong Lajong FC Thangboi Singto wants to finish the I-League strongly and tomorrow will no doubt be a very crucial game for the Reds.

Thangboi said, “The loss to Mumbai FC should be a motivating factor for the players to play well and get a good result against Mohammedan Sporting. We need to play as a Team in order to get a positive result.”
