Zlatan Ibrahimovic has noted that he loves working with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s move to Manchester United has been considered a formality ever since Jose Mourinho was announced as Manchester United manager. However, the Swede superstar’s agent, Mino Raiola, has poured cold water on rumours of the move, insisting that Ibrahimovic has not decided his future and that it could be away from Manchester United.

The Italian-born Dutchman, who has fielded rumours of Zlatan’s move ever since he confirmed his exit from Paris Saint-Germain, spoke to Swedish newspaper Expressen, saying “We haven't decided anything yet. I think it will be a surprise in the end. Everyone is just talking about United, United, United. That's why I don't speak to anyone anymore because all the journalists are asking the wrong questions.”

Zlatan had sparked off fresh rumours of a move ever since he noted that he ‘missed working with Mourinho every day since I left Inter’ in comments to the press a few days ago. However, the Swede remained non-committal when talking about a move to United, although he did claim that he had ‘made his choice’.

However, Raiola confirmed that Zlatan was fielding multiple offers while playing down a move to United, saying “There are some clubs in England, some clubs in Europe, clubs outside Europe. Everyone assumes he must go to Manchester United, but that's not the case.”

Raiola laughs off Zlatan’s assistant role at Old Trafford

With Ryan Giggs having been cleared out along with Louis van Gaal, certain outlets reported that Zlatan could move to Old Trafford to be assistant to Jose Mourinho, given the Swed’s close working relationship with the Portuguese tactician.

Raiola, however, laughed off these rumours, noting that Zlatan’s personality would be unsuited to the assistant’s role, saying “I don't think he could be anyone's assistant. You know what I mean? He could only be his own assistant. But if I was a very important person I'd want him to be my assistant.”

Given that Raiola is an ‘important’ person himself, Expressen asked him if Zlatan could ever be his assistant, to which the agent laughed and replied that he’d rather ‘move to the North Pole’. Ibrahimovic’s agent continued his streak of putting out flames of rumours, noting that Zlatan would not retire after the 2016 UEFA European Championships.

Raiola signed off with one guarantee, saying “The only thing I can guarantee is that he won't quit, but where he'll play next season I can't say anything about.”
