India U-23 to play five friendlies abroad to prepare for the Asian Games

The AIFF has confirmed two exposure trips for the India U-23 side to prepare for the Asian Games. They will be having tours in Czech Republic and China.

Currently 29 players are training under Wim Koevermans in the preparatory camp in Bangalore. 25 of them will be leaving for Czech Republic on July 21 and return on August 8.

India team’s base in Czech Republic will be in Pilsen and they will be playing three friendlies with the opponents being Senco Doubravka (fourth division), FK Most (second division) and TJ Domazlice (third division).

After that the squad will return to India and face Pakistan U-23 in two friendlies in Bangalore on August 17 and 20.

Following those two matches against Pakistan, the team will be heading to China for another tour from August 25 – September 8. They will be playing two matches there against Chinese Super League duo Shanghai Dongya FC and Jiangsu Guoxin-Sainty FC before heading to South Korea directly for the Asian Games.
