Indian players from Delhi Dynamos will surprise people with their quality: Robin Singh

Robin Singh is said to be an integral part of Roberto Carlos’ setup

Delhi Dynamos CEO Prashant Agarwal, described the franchise as the Real Madrid of this year’s Indian Super League (ISL). The franchise boasts of high profile players such as Roberto Carlos, John Arne Riise, Florent Malouda and Adil Nabi. However, Indian national team forward Robin Singh could play an important role in the team’s attacking line.

Singh has a packed October calendar with Indian national team duty and ISL running simultaneously. With Delhi set to face Zico’s Goa , during the first game, the 25-year old is confident of the team’s success. He said, “Our results might not show it, but we had a strong pre-season. We started off poorly but got stronger as we progressed. We even drew against a Danish Superliga side. Everyone enjoys being in the dressing room.”

Singh was all praises for the team, he said, “It’s been amazing to work with the likes of John Arne Riise, Florent Malouda and Roberto Carlos, they bring an immense amount of knowledge to the game. However, even the young players have a lot to add, during training.”

DelhI Dynamos are all set to kick-off their campaign today against Zico’s FC Goa side. The game promises to be a mouth-watering affair, which will pit to Brazilian managers Zico and Roberto Carlos against each other. Singh added,” We are really looking to the first game and we are positive about its outcome. We need to win as many matches, during this ISL as possible. For me personally it’s a big season, as I missed out on the last edition.”

With such a star-studded line-up it’s easy to forget that the Dynamos have a strong Indian contingent as well. Singh said, “Everyone is going on and on about our foreign contingent, but I think our set of Indian players will surprise a lot of people. Watch out for Ralte, who could be the find of the tournament. We have to give our 110 %.”

The lanky striker will be an integral part of Stephen Constantine’s setup, against Oman and Turkmenistan, on October 8 and 13. Singh added, “We are yet to register a point and our main aim will be to score points in each of the remaining games. You can see we are getting better, it’s only a matter of time.”
