Inhuman conditions for migrant workers in Qatar for 2022 World Cup preparations, depicts modern slavery

With Qatar scheduled to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, many of the Qatari construction companies haven’t paid the migrant workers from Nepal and India for more than five months, and for some it’s been a year long wait.

Moreover, construction workers are left to live in inhuman and appalling conditions like salty water for bathing and drinking water being not good, while most of them are stuck in Qatar due to lack of money to go back home.

Apart from this, there is a suspicion among the family as to why the companies haven’t paid them for the work for such a long time.

According to Qatar’s own figures, 182 migrants from India and Nepal have died in 2012-2013, but most of the deaths has been categorised as sudden death.

This video shows the Qatar construction industry in limelight as to how they are dealing with migrant workers and also displays the modern slavery in Qatar.
