Iran announce 28-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2014

Iran have announced the 28-man provisional squad that will be representing the nation in the FIFA World Cup 2014.

Belgium-based striker Reza Ghoochannejhad stands out among the emerging generation, while Fulham man Ashkan Dejagah shores up the midfield alongside Andranik Teymourian.

Fulham midfielder Ashkan Dejagah has found a place for himself in the squad along with Belgium-based Charlton striker Reza Ghoochannejhad who stands out as one of the brightest prospects ihe country.

Iran have been drafted in Group F along with Argentina, Bosnia and Nigeria, and will face Nigeria on June 16 as they kick off their campaign in Brazil.

Goalkeepers: Daniel Davari (Eintracht Braunschweig), Alireza Haghighi (Sporting Covilha, on loan from Rubin Kazan), Rahman Ahmadi (Sepahan), Sousha Makani (Foolad Khuzestan).
