It’s not every day you come across an animal named after one of the best players in the world, but that’s exactly what Isco’s dog has been named. You might think it's because he is a Real Madrid player but Isco actually is a big fan of the Argentine.
Isco says he finds it embarrassing to walk his dog on the streets because of it’s name. He even claims it is not his idea to name the dog and credits that to his parents. According to Sport he spoke with El Hormiguero 3.0 radio station about this hilarious ordeal.
“I have to say in my favor that calling the dog Messi was more my brother and dad's idea than mine. I'm cleaning my hands with it. "I don't walk him anymore, imagine me calling him Messi in the streets.”
There is definite enmity between Real Madrid and Barcelona and it is understandable why Isco wants to keep this story on the down low. The name can definitely be taken the wrong way and it would be very awkward for the public as well.
Imagine repeating the name Messi over and over again and then people rush to find out it’s not the real person but a pet animal. Not the most ideal of pranks given how much fans are crazy about the superstar.
