Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher might coach Indian kids in the club’s upcoming residential academy in India, according to a TOI report.

The Reds are set to start a full-term academy in partnership with Pune’s DSK Shivajians and Carragher could come to India for a coaching session.

“There are plans in place to bring Liverpool’s own Jamie Carragher to India for coaching,” Liverpool youth Ray Curtis was quoted saying.

Curtis and William Ray Price are in New Delhi currently to conduct the fifth leg of the LFC- DSK Shivajians nationwide trials for their U-17 and U-19 teams.

Talking about the facilities of the academy, Curtis stated, “There will be two turfs – an artificial 4G turf and a natural turf, single room accommodation to each and every boy. We will also take care of their food and educational requirements.”

The academy will also be running throughout the year and confirming the same, Price said, “It is a full time residential academy where the boys will be training for 365 days a year. Other Europe-based clubs come with their brand name and stay for just 2-3 weeks.”

The plan is to send some of the top performers to Liverpool for further training and at the end of the course, the best players will be eligible for selection to the DSK-Shivajians B team.
