Joey Barton and Dietmar Hamann's Twitter war

Sunderland v Queens Park Rangers - Premier League

Former Manchester City midfielders Joey Barton and Dietmar Hamann were engaged in an online war on Twitter yesterday. Barton started off by tweeting that Loic Remy was joining QPR, and not Newcastle. The Marseille midfielder criticized the Toon owners for failing to bag the French striker. Hamann was furious, and pointed out that it wasn’t correct of Barton to publicly criticize his former club.

It went on to become ugly, as Barton accused Hamann of being a drug addict, and also said that he had destroyed his own family because of it.

Over 50 messages were sent between the two, and other footballers Nobby Solano and Warren Barton also joined in the conversation.
