Jose Mourinho says Cesc Fabregas didn't want a return to Arsenal

Mourinho has claimed that Cesc Fabregas had no interest in joining Arsenal

The Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has always been known to have his way with words and selling the “dream” to his players whilst recruiting.

His word and personality certainly seemed to have rubbed off on Cesc Fabregas, who, according to Mourinho agreed to join the Blues after conversing with the Portuguese for only 20 minutes.

Even more astonishing is that the “Special One” claimed that the ex-Arsenal midfielder didn’t want to return to The Emirates.

Mourinho, who is now an ambassador and pundit at British sports broadcasters BT Sport for next season said in a Q&A session: "I spoke with him 20 minutes. I think he really wanted to come to us. As you know, Arsenal had an option where they could interfere, but I think he was not open to that, I think he was very, very much in our direction, so it was an easy job for me."

This would come as bitter news to all Gunner faithfuls. They were already enraged at Fabregas for joining their cross-town rivals Chelsea on a five-year deal, but many believed that it happened more so because Arsene Wenger didn’t want the Spaniard back.

If Mourinho’s words are to be believed, it looks like the return was never meant to happen with both parties looking in different directions.
