Jose Mourinho: Chelsea will not be shopping in January transfer window

Chelsea's Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho watches the English League Cup quarter-final football match between Derby County and Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho has revealed that there won’t be any new signings happening for Chelsea in the coming January window. The Portugues manager has claimed that except for any serious or long injury to any of his football stars, the Stamford Bridge team will not be adding to its present squad.

No new players will be added to the squad

In an exclusive chat with talkSport, the 51-year-old when asked about whether he will be shopping for new players next month, he told:

"No. We have a short squad, but we've got good players, some younger, some older, but the squad is very, very good.

"We can't lose players for a long period of time, but our project is to start and finish the season with the same group of players, so there will be nobody to leave and nobody to come in either."

Chelsea had brought five new players in the summer transfer, which included Spain’s Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas. Their lead in the Premier League table has been cut to just three points, with Manchester City trailing them with 36 points and Manchester United on 31.
