Jose Mourinho hits out at Vicente del Bosque over Diego Costa injury

Jose Mourinho has lashed out at Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque over his handling of Diego Costa

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has criticised Spain coach Vicente del Bosque over his selection of Diego Costa for Spain’s Euro 2016 qualifiers, as the Spanish forward has now been ruled out of their game tonight against Maribor in the Champions League, and will possibly miss the match against Manchester United this coming Sunday.

Costa has been a big part of the London club’s unbeaten start to the season, having scored 9 goals in 7 league games. He had been treading very carefully, as he had a history with hamstring injuries, but the situation has finally reached a point when Chelsea had to take him out of the squad.

The Spaniard also missed the weekend fixture against Crystal Palace, which Chelsea won. They have named an unchanged squad for the match against Slovenian champions Maribor.

Mourinho said, "It's the same problem that he's having, but now an injury, not an 'almost injury'. Let's see what happens for next weekend (at Old Trafford), but next weekend is not important. Important is tomorrow and tomorrow he cannot play.”

"It hurts," he added, as has not spoken to Del Bosque about the Costa injury.

"You are not happy when you give players in good conditions and you receive the players in bad conditions. I had managers with a very open communication, some others they simply don't care. Year after year after year, I don't have one single SMS (text message) or one single phone call."
