Mourinho not worried about Klopp taking over at Chelsea, responds to social media abuse reports

Jose Mourinho says he is comfortable with his position

Jose Mourinho says he does not feel threatened about losing his job to Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp. The German manager is set to step down at the end of the season. Mourinho also commented on reports that stated Chelsea were one of the most abused teams in the Premier League saying it was solely because of their achievements.

Mourinho dismissed the idea of Klopp replacing him in the upcoming season and said: “The only thing I know is he’s not coming to Chelsea.

“He told me that personally, so I’m calm.”

Research from Kick It Out showed that Chelsea were the club to receive the highest amount of discrimination messages on social media, while Mario Balotelli of Liverpool received the highest amount of discriminating messages among players.

When the Portuguese was asked about his feeling towards the finding, he said: “I think because we are boring.

“Top of the league since day one. It’s something in this country people don’t like.” – Jose Mourinho

Chelsea are currently on top of the league table, and are seven points clear of their closest competitors. They have stayed on top of the table for so long that they are close to beating the Premier league record for the most number of days a club has spent at the top of the table.

He added: “I think everybody would love the Premier League to be like the Championship at the moment, with four teams separated by a couple of points.

“I know this is the ideal scenario in the Premier League. But since day one we are there and we are trying not to allow that to happen. We have big determination to be champions.”

Chelsea are set to face Manchester United on Saturday, and will be hoping to earn the three points to maintain the gap. Although Chelsea face a problem up front with both Loic Remy and Diego Costa injured, Manchester United have a problem in their defence as most of their first choice defenders are currently injured.
