Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was recently criticized by Aston Villa assistant manager Roy Keane who called the Portuguese manager a disgrace for offering a handshake before full-time during their 3-0 defeat against the Blues last month.

During the launch of his latest autobiography, The Second Half, the former Manchester United skipper was asked about the incident, and he responded stating, “I don’t mind all that, but the game is still going on. It’s disgraceful, I’ve seen him doing it to other managers, it is a disgrace. The game is still going on. You wouldn’t do that on a Sunday morning, you would get knocked out.”

Keane’s comments were backed by Villa manager Paul Lambert who agreed that it was disrespectful of Mourinho.

"Yeah, I do [agree with Keane’s comments], yeah. My thoughts are exactly the same as Roy's on them,” he said. "The game has not even finished. I just thought it was wrong. It's not the way I was brought up."

However, when asked about their comments during his press conference earlier today ahead of their match at Selhurst Park, Mourinho said, “First I want to say that I appreciate the [Keane and Lambert’s] comments, I think that they are both two great examples of polite and well-educated people. Because I am a humble guy trying to learn every day. I appreciate their comments.”

When asked if he would do it again, Mourinho said he would, adding that he doesn’t understand the reason behind them being upset.

No hand-shake until full-time!
