Guilherme clashes with Neymar

German Lux: 5/10

It was a bit of hit and miss game for the Deportivo goalkeeper as he had a poor first half followed by a great second half. His effort to save Rafinha’s shot was weak while he couldn't have done anything about the other three goals. In the second half, he denied Paco Alcacer at least two goals, while he almost made a fantastic save off a Lionel Messi shot.

Fernando Navarro: 6.5/10

The veteran had a very quiet first half as all the attacking was coming from the right with Neymar. However, he was moved to the right back position after Laure’s red card and was much better at stopping Neymar. He kept the Brazillian relatively quiet in the last 10 minutes of the game.

Sidnei: 6/10

The Brazillian had a decent start to the game as he looked to boss Luis Suarez early in the game. However, he picked up an early injury and had to be substituted in the 29th minute.

Albentosa: 5/10

The centre-back was defensively inconsistent on the pitch. He did prove to be strong enough to stop Luis Suarez while he was also caught out of position thanks to Barcelona’s wing-play which stretched the Deportivo team.

Laure: 5.5/10

Despite an absolutely unnecessary red card, Laure’s red was a long time coming. In the first half, he did trouble Lucas Digne on a couple of occasions when Deportivo went forward attacking. However, he was quite reckless and rough in handling Neymar and a booking was expected.

Bruno Gama: 4.5/10

Bruno was missing the whole game as he unable to contribute to Deportivo’s attack at all. His work rate was below par and he did not contribute much to the defence either. It was a forgettable game for Bruno and he was substituted in the 63rd minute.

Guilherme: 6/10

Guilherme caused Lucas Digne a lot of problems with his good attacking play and also did a good job tracking back to help the defence. He had a very restricted attacking role after Laure’s red card as Deportivo looked to ensure they didn’t concede more.

Pedro Mosquera: 6/10

The midfielder did manage to make a few good passes when Deportivo looked to attack. He provided cover for the defence and was also very smart in making two tactical fouls on Neymar when the Brazillian looked dangerous.

C.Borges: 5/10

Borges did not have much of a positive impact in the attack and was also unable to track his opposition players.

Emre Colak: 4.5/10

The attacker did make a few decent runs going forward but did not trouble Barcelona’s defence. He was hardly even seen in possession of the ball during the game.

F.Andone: 5/10

One of the only players that posed a threat going forward for Deportivo on the night. A silly foul in the first half gave Barcelona a free kick that led to Rafinha’s second goal of the night.

Substitutes

Luisinho: 6/10

The defender had his task cut out to defend against Barcelona with ten men and put on a good performance to keep the scoreline at 4-0.

Alejandro Arribas: 5/10

Arribas had a decent game after coming on early in the game to replace Sidnei. He could’ve done better to stop Lionel Messi from scoring a goal in the second half.

Ryan Babel: 6/10

One of the forgotten players of European football, Ryan Babel put in a decent effort after coming on. He was of great help for the defence and his work rate helped Deportivo keep the scoreline at 4-0.
