La Liga 2016-17: Cristiano Ronaldo hires agent Jorge Mendes' daughter as his Online Community Manager

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most famous personalities on social media with a following of over 200 million users on social media's various platforms. The latest news concerning the Portuguese superstar is that the 31-year old has hired his agent Jorge Mendes' daughter, Marisa Mendes to look after his Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Marisa and Ronaldo have always made the back of the newspapers in Spain as the duo have been romantically linked for a number of times since Ronaldo's move to play for Real Madrid. Both Marisa and Cristiano have vehemently denied these reports and her father, Jorge Mendes had to clarify about their status once. The duo has yet again come in the news as the Portuguese has hired Marisa to be his Online Community Manager.

Marisa Mendes will look after all of the winger's social media handles with Ronaldo having a staggering total of 47.6 million followers on Twitter. He also has 117 million likes on Facebook which are one of the highest numbers of likes on Facebook for a sportsperson. Ronaldo has 79.3 million followers on Instagram while the 31-year-old is yet to open his account on yet another famous social media application, Snapchat.

Cristiano Ronaldo received a lot of flak on social media this morning as he casually posted a “Good Morning” message on Facebook along with a photo, but little did he know that he would be getting a lot of strong words from his followers.The photo Cristiano Ronaldo posted was of him with his foot on the outer portion of a statue of Lord Buddha.

This touched the religious chords of several of his supporters and he received a lot of criticism for the act. Many fans have demanded an apology from the Real Madrid superstar but the 31-year-old is yet to take the photo off Facebook or post any apology for the outrage on his controversial photo.

He posted the photo this morning on the back of Real's 6-1 win over Legia Warsaw in the Champions League. Ronaldo was one of the best players on the pitch as he gave two assists and had many chances to score for himself. The 31-year old has four goals in eight games this campaign and is the favorite for last year's prestigious Ballon d'Or trophy which is set to be conducted in January.
