Brazil World Cup winner Gilberto Silva could make a one-off appearance for Las Vegas City in a friendly against Miami United next month, according to media reports.

Gilberto, 39, has not played competitively since ending a successful one-year spell at his original club Atletico Mineiro in 2013, reports Xinhua news agency.

"We have spoken with Gilberto Silva and we are going to try to speak to him again this week," Las Vegas director of football Marcio Granada was quoted as saying by the Globoesporte portal on Monday.

"Nothing has been confirmed yet. But it would be a great pleasure to have him here."

Las Vegas have already announced that Ronaldinho - who played alongside Gilberto in Brazil's 2002 World Cup-winning team - will also make a solitary appearance in the match against Miami United.

Miami's squad, meanwhile, will feature former Brazil striker Adriano, who joined the Florida club in January.

Both Miami United and Las Vegas City play in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), equivalent to US football's fourth tier.
