Video: Lassana Diarra scores stunning long range goal in Marseille's 6-0 win over Troyes

Former Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra celebrates his goal against Troyes

Olympique De Marseille got their season up and running in their second game in Ligue 1 as they thumped Troyes 6-0 and picked up all three points in the most emphatic fashion.

Coming from the back of a draw, the French giants grabbed their first goals of the season in a match that was entirely dominated by new manager Michel’s side. Michel who was formerly the manager of Greek side Olympiakos, was appointed in midweek as a replacement for former coach Marco Bielsa, who resigned from the managerial seat duties earlier this month.

And his spell at France kicked off in style as Abdelaziz Barrada put his side ahead netting a rebound of Michy Batshuayi's header that came back off the bar. After the half time interval, Marseille extended their lead to 3-0 in the space of nine minutes thanks to a wonderful strike from Lassana Diarra and a clinical finish from Batshuayi.

Lucas Ocampos added a fourth in style, acrobatically steering the ball beyond Petric, before Romain Alesdandrini and Batshuayi netted late on to complete the thrashing of the visitors.

Diarra’s blistering strike that flew into the top left corner of the net was the standout goal of the match. Here is the video of that goal.
