Mahrez and Vardy have been in stunning form for Leicester City this season

The nominations for the PFA player of the year are out and unsurprisingly it contains players from the top three teams in the Premier League along with a player from West Ham United. The league leaders Leicester City have had plenty of amazing performers for them this season.

3 of the 6 nominations for the award are from Leicester City with Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and N’golo Kante being chosen from the Foxes.

The other outstanding team of this season has been Tottenham Hotspur and they have their very own representative in super striker Harry Kane. The England international has already scored 22 goals in the Premier League this season and he currently sits on top for the Golden Boot standings.

Arsenal and West Ham United have their two talented playmakers rounding off the nominations list. Dimitri Payet and Mesut Ozil have been absolutely sensational this season with Payet especially being very impressive in his debut season at the Premier League.

Mesut Ozil started off the season in stunning fashion registering a number of assists. Although he has tapered off slightly in the last few weeks, Ozil’s class has been evident right throughout the season.

Riyad Mahrez will be the favourite to win the award this season with Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil being the least likely.

The Young Player of the Year Nominees were also revealed today.

The list contained some very talented players with both the Merseyside rivals having representatives in Coutinho, Lukaku and Ross Barkley. Harry Kane was joined by his highly impressive team-mate Dele Alli while young goalkeeper Jack Butland from Stoke City rounded off the nominations.
