Presser from Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa:

In a press conference on Thursday, Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa responded to many questions and spoke about the current Cristiano Ronaldo situation. Alvaro Arbeloa asked the media to not take Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments about being sad ‘that seriously’. He revealed: “Too much has been made of what Cristiano said. I think that we shouldn’t take it that seriously. We saw him yesterday and he was smiling as always. It’s water under the bridge and as Xabi (Alonso) said, we are only focused on Sevilla right now.” Xabi later added that the he would have been happy had Cristiano won the award.

El Clasico on 7 October confirmed:

The first El Clasico of the season in La Liga has been confirmed by the Liga de Futbol Profesional (LFP). The match up in the seventh round will be played on Sunday, October 7th at the Camp Nou at (Oct 8th, 12.30 AM IST), in what will be the first Clasico of the Spanish league. Madrid won last season’s fixture away from home with a scoreline of 2-1 to help them clinch the Primera Division title. The other big news of the day is that there will be a game on Friday, specifically the Celtic-Sevilla (21:30 pm), which will be the big game opener.

Sevilla Manager Michel Gonzalez feels that he was used by Granero:

The Sevilla Manager tells that it was Granero who was keen to play for the Andalusia based club, but later joined English Premier League side Queens Park Rangers. Michel revealed: “I feel disappointed and used. Not by the player, but by his people and I told his agent as much when we spoke. He contacted me through another Madrid player, I put him in touch with Monchi; he spoke to his agent, but he ended up making the decision he wanted. I feel used and they’ve done it with someone else, I spoke to his agent about it and told him straight up. I think they used the club, the director of football and a Real Madrid player, who was the one who called me to carry out the signing.” Sevilla will be playing in the Estadio Ramon Sanchez stadium this week against Real Madrid, surely the drama isn’t over yet.

“I never broke in,” says Javi Martinez:

Bilbao newspaper El Correo claimed that Martinez tried to break into Athletic Bilbao’s training ground last Sunday night to get his remaining belongings. Later on Tuesday, he tweeted that he was quite surprised that fans were actually thinking that the widespread rumours were true. He conceded that he visited the facility to get his personal belongings at night and entered the place like a normal person, and there is no suspicion of a breach in his visit, later in an interview. It was also said that Javi had previously undergone a medical with Bayern Munich without the consent of Club President Josu Urrutia, befor joining the German based side, which made the latter furious. Although, later, Bayern Munich general manager Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was assured by Urrutia that the club won’t be taking any legal action against the player.

Alexis Sanchez is out of the Getafe game:

The Barça winger suffered a small tear in the adductor of the left leg, and eventually ended up being injured on international duty when Chile were playing against Colombia. Reportedly, he’s out for the game against Getafe on Saturday and will remain away from the pitch for 10/15 days. Andres Iniesta and Jordi Alba are injured as well.

Albelda ruled out of action for a month atleast:

Valencia midfielder David Albelda suffered a hamstring tear while training and will be sidelined up to four weeks. He will be in a rehab regimen and will be re-evaluated in ten days to measure the progress of the injury. Valencia was already void of a number of key players, including Ever Banega, Sergio Canales, Ever Banega, Fernando Gago and Pablo Piatti, certainly a worry for coach Mauricio Pellegrino. Valencia are facing Celta Vigo this weekend, and we can see some tactical changes as well.

Capello hails Falcao to be as impressive as Messi:

In an interview given to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’, Russia’s national coach, Fabio Capello has admitted that Falcao impressed him the first day he saw him play: “during my entire career there’s only been one player who’s impressed as much as Messi the first time I saw him play and that’s Radamel Falcao. He’s an amazing striker and right now, he’s surely the world’s number 1. He is a fantastic striker, without a doubt the best around at the moment.” He even commented on the Spanish giants rivalry at the moment and tips that Real has better depth in their squad. “Their starting XI’s are very evenly matched, but if it depends on the strength of their benches, then Real wins,” says the former Real Madrid Manager. He added that Jose Mourinho is the right man for Real Madrid as he is consistent and pragmatic.

Iker Casillas re-assures that Cristiano Ronaldo is happy in Madrid:

Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas has moved to quash rumours suggesting that Cristiano Ronaldo is unhappy in the Spanish capital. He says: “Nothing big has happened at all. Every player went off with their national sides and that’s it. As a Madrid and as a Madrid fan it’s an absolute pleasure to have Cristiano at the club. And for Cristiano, it’s a pleasure to wear the shirt of the best team in the world, so everyone wins! Cristiano is delighted to be at Real Madrid and it’s great for the fans that he is at the club. The Real Madrid supporters are a demanding bunch, but they demand the same from everyone. We need to forget about it (the Ronaldo situation) and we have to focus on the game with Sevilla. We can’t afford to drop anymore points and we have to win that game at all costs.” Statistically, whenever Ronaldo visited Sevilla, it has been a nightmare. The Portuguese has scored seven goals in the last two performances at the Sanchez Pizjuan, where Real Madrid has been achieved as a real roller paths scandal thrashings of 2-6. Certainly, a very important player.
