Liverpool forward Iago Aspas will not be leaving the club in the summer transfer window, according to his agent.

The Spaniard has struggled at the club since signing from Celta Vigo in the summer and has only made thirteen appearances for the club, starting just five.

There have been reports lately that Aspas has voiced his concerns at a lack of playing time and that he wants to leave the club in the summer, however, according to the Evening Standard, Aspas’ agent says the forward will be staying on Merseyside in the summer.

Rodriguez Baster, Aspas’ agent, said: “There is no possibility of Iago returning to Spain or going anywhere else.

“Iago has a four-year contract with Liverpool and is very happy to be with the Reds, apart from the fact that he would obviously like to play more.

“But he is happy with Rodgers and he is not thinking about moving. I’ve never talked to any Italian club, Iago Aspas is fine at Liverpool and happy that the team is having a great season.”

Aspas has found it hard to dislodge Liverpool’s fearsome strike duo, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez. The Spaniard may have a chance to impress Brendan Rodgers however, with Daniel Sturridge set to miss out on the game against Norwich this coming Sunday.

Iago Aspas has had two shots in the Premier League this season (13 games), with one hitting the target.
