Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen could receive a surprise transfer offer from Manchester United, reports Metro.
Manchester United has plans of making £20m bid for Joe Allen as Manchester United’s manager Louis Van Gaal wants to strengthen his team’s inconsistent midfield, which has struggled recently. van Gaal was reportedly impressed by Allen’s play during a 2-0 friendly defeat for Wales against the Dutch in June.
If the move has to go through, it would be the first time a player would leave Liverpool for Manchester United since Liverpool player Allenby Chilton had joined the Red devils in 1938.
Allen was underused by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers during the last season, and the rumours hovering around his future this summer and this deal would come as a shock to Welsh midfielder.
