Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has declared that he is happy at the club. The Brazilian attacker has been linked with several major clubs during the previous transfer windows and the 24-year old's words have come as happy news to the Liverpool fans.

Philippe Coutinho has been a very influential and important player for the Reds since joining them from Inter Milan for a fee of £8.5 million in 2013. The Brazilian, who has been at the club for about four years now, has matured and developed a lot during his stay in England. Big clubs like Barcelona have been in the market for the 24-year-old but Liverpool were able to hold on to the player.

Liverpool fans still fear if their main player Coutinho will leave if an offer from a club like Barcelona comes. However, the Brazilian himself has poured water over the fears of the Reds fans by saying that the city feels like his home.

“Liverpool feels like my home. I feel happy, settled and comfortable here with the city and the people. It’s an amazing city. I enjoy going to the cinema with my wife and to restaurants in town. The supporters are very nice. Hearing people singing my name, it inspires me. The fans here make me feel amazing. They give all the players confidence. They are there for us in every game", Coutinho told in an interview with the Liverpool Echo.

The Brazilian international then said that he is still maturing as a player. Coutinho also credited current Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for making him a better player.

“Maybe this is the best I’ve played but I still think I can improve. This is just the start. I always want to improve and do better. I want to be an important player for this team. I want to help my team-mates to achieve great things.

“Jurgen (Klopp) has helped me to develop a lot as a player. I really enjoy working with this manager. He has given me a lot of confidence. The team plays differently now. We play high pressure football. This style suits us and this manager is so important for Liverpool. I believe in this squad. The manager has changed a lot. He has changed the mentality of the group.

“We are in a good way. We have a good team, but we have to show it every day and in every game. We can’t look too far ahead. We have to take it step by step, game by game. Maybe at the end we can win", the former Inter Milan said.

Coutinho also discussed how his family helps him. The 24 year told to Liverpool Echo that his wife Aina and daughter Maria play a very important role in his life.

The Liverpool number 10 will be hoping to continue contributing to his team and help them reach greater heights. Coutinho has won the Reds' Player Of The Year award for the last two seasons and will be looking to add more to his trophy cabinet.
