Rumour: Liverpool set to sign Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri

Shaqiri set to finally leave Bayern Munich

Liverpool are expected to sign Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri, according to Sky Italia. Although, Sky Italia reports that Juventus and Inter Milan are also in the race to sign the fleet footed winger, Liverpool are expected to lure him to Anfield. Xherdan Shaqiri, has been linked to Liverpool, since last summer and a deal finally between the two parties, is most likely to proceed.

Shaqiri, has suffered a torrid time under former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola. The ‘Alpine Messi’ has often been overshadowed by the presence of Franck Ribery and has bagged few appearances. Shaqiri has also been told to leave Allianz Arena, if he wants to.

With Shaqiri likely to leave, Liverpool seems the prefect destination for the Swiss International. Liverpool’s tacky passing and quick movements would most likely be comfortable for Shaqiri to set in. The fleet footed winger, has been impressive in his stint with Bayern Munich but somehow has taken a backseat to a much more mature and talented, Franck Ribery.

Liverpool are expected to make a permanent deal with Shaqiri, unlike Juventus and Inter Milan. With Liverpool’s attacking contingent lacking the quality to make things happen recently, Shaqiri could prove to be a vital reinforcement and his inclusion will also add depth to Liverpool.
