Liverpool agree fee with Sunderland for Fabio Borini

Sunderland have had their bid for Fabio Borini accepted by Liverpool, according to reports.

Gus Poyet and Sunderland were keen on bringing Borini back to the North-East after the ex-Roma man spent last year on loan at Wearside. The Black Cats thus, have had a constant dialogue with Liverpool throughout the summer.

The fee for the Italian forward accepted by the heads at Anfield is believed to be around £14million. .

Fabio Borini, who scored 10 goals for the Black Cats last season was Brendan Rodger’s first signing as Liverpool boss, after having watched the forward first hand whilst he was on loan at Swansea.

The Italian however, failed to impress at Anfield in the two injury ravaged season he spent at Merseyside. The former Chelsea youth would go on to score only twice in twenty appearances for Liverpool.
