Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal has stated that he may not take over the reigns at Old Trafford and insists that no deal has been signed yet.

The 62-year-old is busy preparing the Netherlands national team for the upcoming World Cup but has been heavily linked with the Manchester United job after David Moyes’ sacking.

Despite the rumors the Dutchman denied reaching an agreement with Manchester United’s owners the Glazers.

‘We have not reached that stage yet [of signing a contract],’ said the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach.

‘It’s not even clear if we will reach that stage. One has to wait.

‘Some of the things that have been suggested are absolutely untrue.’

This development will possibly be welcomed by United’s interim manager Ryan Giggs who may now get the job on a permanent basis.
