Luis Suarez: My goal against Juventus in Champions League showed who I am

Luis Suarez wants to win more with Barcelona and thinks the team can do much more

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has said that he has had to endure a lot of difficulties to get to the level he is at right now, and that he is thankful to his family for their support. He also said that the goal he scored against Juventus showed what his true character really was.

Speaking to the press after the win, he said, "The goal was incredible, and when I'd scored the first people I thought of were my wife and my two children. They have been through a lot with me -- they have suffered with me. They know what I have suffered and sacrificed to get here.”

"Things happen in football and I try to turn them round -- so many things have happened to me. Football is like that, there are always difficult moments. At the World Cup against England for example, there were people who didn't think I would make it to the game because of my injury, but I did -- and was able to score two goals.”

"And then everything that happened afterwards at the World Cup... Tonight I had the chance to show people what I am really about after all the things that people had said, things that I kept out of.

"Thankfully that happened and I was able to show them who I really am."

The Uruguayan also said that he was grateful for the support from the Barcelona players and fans and that he wants to achieve even more with them next season, adding, "I had the support of my teammates from the start. And with the talent we have in the team, it is easier when you have [Lionel Messi], Neymar and Andres Iniesta with you.”

"I didn't even dream of this. I always want to achieve more. I never feel satisfied with what I have done. With the quality this team has I think we can win more."
