Barcelona striker Luis Suarez claims that the Premier League is the best league in the word, according to Goal. The former Liverpool striker, however, said that his present club is undoubtedly the best in the world.

The Uruguayan forward, who recently lost his appeal against his international suspension, spent a highly successful, yet controversial, three and a half years in England with Liverpool before making the move to the Camp Nou last summer.

The 28-year-old said that though the highly competitive BPL is the best competition in the world, Barcelona are the best when it comes to clubs.

"The Premier League is the best league in the world. But Barcelona are the best team,” Suarez told ESPN Deportes Radio.

The forward was not able to play for his new team until October last year because of the four-month ban imposed by FIFA for his bite on Italy’s Giorgio Chillieni at the 2014 World Cup. He took some time to settle at the Nou Camp but became an integral member of the squad post the turn of the year, ending the season with 25 goals and 20 assists in all competitions.

Privilege to play with Barcelona teammates: Suarez

The Barcelona No. 9 was humble in his reply and chose to praise his teammates when asked whether he considered himself as one of the best players in the world.

“I do my job and I'm in the best team in the world and I'm doing things that I never imagined, the rest we leave for their opinion," he said.

"I have the privilege of playing with those two players (Lionel Messi and Neymar) and Iniesta was a dream to play, I enjoy (playing) beside them.”

He formed a deadly trio with Messi and Neymar as the Catalan’s lethal forwards scored a record 122 goals between them, almost 70% of the total scored by Barca in their dream treble winning campaign. Suarez is looking forward to emulating the same kind of success, if not better, in the 2015/16 season as well.

“This year there is more motivation and always demands are greatest. What we did last year people will remember it forever because it is unique and this year we are able to get the same titles and get the six titles in one year," Suarez said.

Suarez open to MLS move in the future

Suarez also opened up on his future plans and said that he wants to play again for two of his previous teams in Nacional and Ajax. The Uruguayan started off his career with Nacional and also enjoyed a highly successful spell in Netherlands with Ajax before making the move to Liverpool.

"I would like to retire at the club I love, Nacional. But I also want to return to Ajax someday,” he said.

Suarez said he was also interested in a move to MLS. He said: “The MLS would not be a bad choice. It could happen one day. The US love of the game is growing a lot. People are filling the stadiums.”
