India internationals Bembem Devi and Lako Phuti Bhutia have joined Maldives club New Radiant. The club announced the two signings on their official website.
Midfielder Bembem is one of India’s greatest women footballers and was adjudged the 2013 AIFF women’s player of the year. Lako is a defender and only 19 years old.
The Maldives women’s national championship started today but the Indian duo is expected to join from the third match.
