Man United & Arsenal Target Kiko Casillo claims Espanyol "is where I belong"

Kiko Casilla

Kiko Casilla of RCD Espanyol has been catching the eye of a number of big clubs.

Arsenal and Manchester United’s reported target Kiko Casilla, of Espanyol, is determined to stay in Spain and is happy to Espanyol.

Casilla has also been looked at by Barcelona, who are losing both Pinto and Victor Valdes in the summer. They have been on the lookout for a goalkeeper for the majority of the season and have been linked with Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Liverpool’s Pepe Reina, who is on-loan with Napoli.

Man United and Arsenal are looking at Casilla to offer competition for their respective number ones, David de Gea and Wojciech Szczesny. Anders Lindegaard andLukasz Fabianski are set to leave both United and Arsenal in the summer so the clubs need back-ups and good competition to keep their first-choices on their toes.

However, Casilla has no intentions of leaving anytime soon.

“My intention is to stay here,” he said. ”This club gave me so much when things were going badly, and I always had a helping hand when I needed them.

“Now I am happy here, enjoying myself and playing. This is where I belong.”

Casilla has another year left on his current deal, but is not concerned that another may not be forthcoming.

“Obviously I want to stay,” Casilla added.

“I am staying here at least one more year so it is not alarming to me.”
