Manchester City are sweating on one of their most important player's fitness in Kevin De Bruyne as many reports have emerged that the Belgian is going to be out for four weeks with a hamstring injury he suffered in City's 3-1 victory over Swansea City. The 25-year-old limped off in the 81st minute against Swansea as City won their tenth consecutive game this season and maintained their unbeaten record under Pep Guardiola.
The club is expected to make an official statement about De Bruyne's injury today with Guardiola facing an anxious wait over his star man's fitness. After the game, Guardiola said, "I think he's injured. Tonight we are going to come back to Manchester, tomorrow the doctor is going to see. It's a pity. It's important for us. For how he reacted it looks muscular but I'm not a doctor."

The 25-year-old may miss an all important clash against Tottenham next weekend with the game being a top of the table encounter. He could also miss City's game against Everton after the international break due to his hamstring problem. For his national side Belgium, he will miss the World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Gibraltar. The most important game that the 25-year-old will miss during his four weeks lay off is a Champions League tie away to Barcelona on October 19.
A bright start under Guardiola for De Bruyne
With two goals and four assists, De Bruyne had a dream start to the new season as the Belgian is emerging as a contender for player of the year awards at the end of the season. Guardiola had some kind words for De Bruyne as he said, "I think he is a special player, an outstanding player. He makes everything. Without the ball he's the first fighter, and with the ball it's clear he sees absolutely everything. He decides what he has to do in the right moment every single time."

Guardiola continued, "He is one of the best players I have managed. Messi can sit alone in the table, it's not allowed anyone else, but in the table beside, Kevin can sit there, there's no doubt. " City sit top of the table with a two-point lead over the other contenders as Guardiola equaled Carlo Ancelotti's record of winning six consecutive league games in his first season in England.
