Manchester City have announced the signing of Spanish footballer Alvaro Negredo from Sevilla. He has been signed on a four year deal, with City paying £20.6 million for his services.
Negredo becomes the fourth player to be signed by City this summer, after Jesus Navas, Fernandinho and Stevan Jovetic (pending a medical). He will play with the squad on the pre-season tour at Hong Kong, and is also slated to wear the number 9 jersey.
The 27 year old striker was one of the leading scorers in the La Liga last season with 25 goals. He was ranked fourth on the list of top scorers.
Negredo’s last game for Sevilla in June 2013 resulted in a 4-3 win over Valencia, a game in which all four goals were scored by him, thereby leaving his club on a huge high.
