Manchester City's Wikipedia page changed to claim the club is now owned by Jurgen Klopp

After being humiliated at the Etihad by Liverpool in a 4-1 thrashing, the misery was piled on for Manchester City as their page on Wikipedia was edited to reflect a host of details. One of the more hilarious ones was the suggestion that the Manchester club’s owner was Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho were instrumental in the dismantling of the Sky Blues. It was Coutinho’s cross that caused the first goal off Eliaquim Mangala, it was then followed by one by the former Inter Milan player himself. Firmino would also get on the scoresheet later on to put the game to bed early on.

Whoever edited Manchester City’s page was quick to recognise the former Hoffenheim player’s contributions in the game as he named him Operator of the Etihad. The biggest change in the page, however, was an edited section that suggested that the stadium was renamed the Liverpool FC U19 Training Ground.

The entry that was changed read: “As of 22/11/2015, it has been renamed as Liverpool FC U19 Training Ground in honor of the utter humiliation suffered by the Manchester City first team at the hands of the Liverpool FC first team.”

It was hardly a result many anticipated considering the form Manchester City have been in, off late. Their start to the season was an inspired one that saw them climb easily to the top of the table and open up a sizable gap before crumbling in stages to now sit second behind Leicester City, albeit by a single point.

Add to that the iffy performances that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been putting in and it made for a result favouring Manuel Pellegrini’s men, but a stellar performance from the Reds left the home side without an answer.

Predictably, the Chilean boss of Manchester City was not pleased by his side's showing. His anger was evident after the game as he went on to claim he has never seen his team play like they did against Liverpool before.

He said: “I am more than angry, it is difficult to understand why we played so poorly. In defence, in attack and in possession I have never seen my team play in the way they played tonight.

“It was not one name or another name who was to blame it was the whole team. I was not happy with the performance of all 11 players. It was a complete disaster.”
