Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj completes season-long loan move to Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United’s winger Adnan Januzaj joins Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan deal

Adnan Januzaj of Manchester United has joined German side Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan deal as confirmed by the player on his official Twitter account . The Belgian winger who has not yet been able to gain considerable playing time under manager Louis van Gaal will be moving to the Bundesliga hoping to get more regular football.

Januzaj was pegged to be one of the best youth players in the Premier League during the 2013-14 season when he made his competitive debut. The player though was unable to live up to the expectations the club had set for him and was gradually pushed down the pecking order.

In the 2014-15 season when Louis van Gaal took over the team, the Belgian was unable to convince the Dutch manager his worth and was rarely selected to play.

This year though the player helped his team gain three points in their second league fixture against Aston Villa, where he scored the only goal in the match.

After initially playing for FC Brussels the 20-year old moved to Anderlecht in 2005, and finally moved to Manchester United in 2011. He made 50 appearances for the Red Devils and scored 5 goals across all competitions.

Januzaj will most definitely improve as a player in Dortmund, as he can learn from the like of Marco Reus, Shinji Kagawa, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

“Borussia Dortmund is a big club and the fans are supposed to be unbelievable here,” Januzaj said. “I want to achieve big things with this team.”

Dortmund who seems to have regained their lost flare under the management of Thomas Tuchel, will hope that the young winger can perform at the caliber that is required of him.

Michael Zorc the sporting director of Dortmund added: “Adnan is a much sought after and technically gifted player who completes our attacking lineup.”
