Manchester United's Angel Di Maria dominating Premier League shirt sales

Angel Di Maria leads the Premier League in jersey sales

He might not have made any significant impact on the field during his maiden season at Old Trafford, but Angel Di Maria is certainly topping the charts when it comes to football jersey sales.

If retailers Sports Direct, who sell shirts of clubs like Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool etc. are to be believed, then the 27-year-old’s jersey is the most sought after among fans with almost one in 10 wanting his shirt in stores.

Interestingly, Di Maria is way ahead of second placed Alexis Sanchez, who is followed in third place by Chelsea striker Diego Costa. United goalkeeper David de Gea is in fourth position and Eden Hazard rounds off the top five.

Wayne Rooney is at a close sixth with 2.09%, followed by teammate Radamel Falcao. Steven Gerrard is eighth, followed by Sergio Aguero and another United player, Robin van Persie rounds off the top 10.
